John Mavredakis is a Senior Managing Director and President of HLHZ Capital, Inc., the investment banking subsidiary of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. He is a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Board of Directors, and directs the firm’s financial sponsors group. He has over 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private financings, ESOP buyouts, and personally closing over 100 transactions. He was co-director of ESOP Capital Partners, a $188 million mezzanine/private equity fund.
Mr. Mavredakis is a frequent speaker to business groups and law firms on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance issues and has instructed the CPA continuing education courses in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Washington on “Valuation of Businesses.” Mr. Mavredakis served as managing editor and co-authored “Valuation Case Study,” a chapter in the textbook entitled Financial Valuation: Businesses and Business Interests, which was published in 1990 by Maxwell Macmillan/Rosenfeld Launer. He has also published numerous articles on corporate finance. Mr. Mavredakis earned a B.A. in economics from UCLA and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the University of Denver Graduate School of Business. He is registered with the NASD as a General Securities Principal (Series 7, 63, 24).
